Clairvale

Eibhlin is a 14.1hh grey (from brown) mare. Eibhlin came about as a result of Tearna's research for A Dusty Grey Pony. Initially, she was very interested in finding out what happened to the mare-line of Garland Silver Willow, who was the only progeny of the imported UK stallion Tiercel Galloping Major. She contacted Su Moore of Tinderry Stud to talk to her about her ponies and was delighted to find that she still had Garland Silver Willow's daughter Tinderry Enya. Enya was also of interest to her as her sire Home Vale Quantas had very similar Chiltern breeding to Chiltern Saffron, the mare Tearna learnt to ride on and continues to keep in her mind as her "ideal" Connemara mare. She visited Su to meet Enya and met the most absolutely gobsmackingly stunning mare, even in the freezing cold of high country NSW! Not long after visiting, Tearna asked if Su would consider leasing out Enya and very gratefully Su accepted, Enya was put in foal to the lovely imported Irish stallion Castle Baron, and produced Eibhlin. A very typey, well conformed and modern-moving mare, Eibhlin has certainly lived up to her outstanding bloodlines and her results and her progeny with our stud speak for herself.

Eibhlin has produced one gelding for us, Clairvale Padraic by Garnet Quicksilver. She was then on lease to Jackie Mellett of Dun Manus Stud in Victoria while we were in the UK, where she produced two quality geldings. She was then leased to Su Moore of Tinderry Stud where she produced the outstanding filly Tinderry Bernadette by Glenormiston Celtic Prince who we now also own. Eibhlin's service fee and collection fees to Prince were won at the 2012 Connemara Showcase for winning High Point Mare of the Showcase as a prize donated by Kahean Stud and Lancefield Equine Clinic. After a seven year break from breeding to continue her ridden career, Eibhlin produced the stunning filly Clairvale Enif by Clairvale Constellation in 2023 and our stallion prospect Clairvale Diamant by Kahean Jimmy Diamond in 2026. She has been left empty for the 2026 season.
